Christ the King Parish, Kampala is located  on Plot 14, Colville Street at the junction of Colville Street and Kimathi Avenue, on Nakasero Hill, in the Central Division of Kampala.

It was established by the Mill Hill Fathers, in 1930. Rev. Fr. Henri Jerssen was its founding parish priest.  The parish, which today is under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala, is one of the most dynamic and most popular Parishes in the Country based on its location and convenience.

The church serves Christ The King Catholic Parish, which covers Nakasero, Kololo, and Old Kampala  Many worshippers, however, come from other parts of the city and surrounding neighborhoods to pray at this location.

OUR story

Christ the King Parish is our Christian Home, a Tent of Encounter with God.

As early as 1900, Christ the king parish existed as a small community of Catholics in Kampala that had come all the way from Goa, Mangalore and South India. A Christian community of staunch Catholics who were never hesitating to be known for their Catholic faith. They were eager to take with them Christ, wherever they settled. The majority of them had come to work on the Uganda Railways Construction which had by now reached near Kisumu in Kenya.

A self-sustaining family of God committed to the mission of Christ in a cosmopolitan society.

To excel in promoting the mission of Christ in a dynamic cosmopolitan society.
