Msgr. Gerard Kalumba Vicar General

Moderator of Social Communications Office. Kampala Archdiocese

Communication is very central and crucial in all our human activities, on it rotates lives. It directs our social, psychological, emotional, mental, physical and other areas of relationships.

It promotes love, hope, peace, joy, happiness, development, good health understanding and justice. It may also produce the opposite of each of the above: hatred, anger, injustices, poor health, backward- ness, misunderstandings and so many other social and physical evils.

Today social media is both a blessing and curse. People easily reach each other, but also destroy each other in many ways.

Social Communication gadgets are filled with materials that poison the emotions, minds and divert the focus from the Good News of Christ Jesus Our Lord.

World Communications Day is an opportunity to re-emphasize the Blessing of Social Communication especially in the Ministry of Evangelization and assist the Community to recognize the enemy that uses Social Communication to destroy values.

We welcome all friends from around the Country who have come to the Archdiocese of Kampala to celebrate this day.

Enjoy your stay and God bless those who are involved in The Social Communication Ministry.

Bible Verse of the Day
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
